The Compact will assist the Government in meeting the projected demand for water in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar for residential consumers and commercial and industrial users through a Water Supply Project. The Government, acting through Millennium Challenge Account-Mongolia (the “MCA-Mongolia”), intends to apply a portion of the MCC Funding to eligible payments under a contract for which this Request for Quotations (RFQ) is issued. Any payments made by the MCA Entity under the proposed contract will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the Compact and related documents, including restrictions on the use and distribution of MCC Funding. MCA-Mongolia and Water Agency representatives had a working meeting on October 13, 2020 at MCA-Mongolia office to discuss Industrial Pre-Treatment Plan, its implementation and further monitoring, as well as other efforts to reduce industrial wastewater pollution and exchange views on further cooperation. CEO E.Sodontogos, project directors and specialists from MCA-Mongolia side and Head of Water Agency Sh.Myagmar led representatives from the Water Agency participated in the meeting.

MCA-Mongolia, on October 9, 2020, joined “Housing and Public Utility Workers Day-2020” event jointly organized by the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development and Water Services Regulatory Commission on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the public utilities sector in Mongolia disseminating information on the Bulk Water Supply Program being implemented under the Mongolia Water Compact to the public.

MCA-Mongolia in cooperation with Mongolian Nation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) organized an event to inform local firms and entities about the projects being implemented under the Mongolia Water Compact and planned international construction tenders and procurement opportunities under these projects. Representatives from over 100 of private entities took part in the event.
