MCA Mongolia participated with the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development and introduced the MCC-Mongolia Water Compact, which contributes to the “Sixth goal: Clean water and Sanitation – Ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all” of SDG.

September 10th is the Remembrance Day for Victims of Political Repression in Mongolia. For this year’s occasion, S.Odontuya, Member of Parliament and head of the State Acquittal Committee, B.Khuyagbaatar, Chairman of Songinokhairkhan District's Citizens' Representative Khural, and other officials as well as representatives from the victims’ families paid tribute and laid flowers at the memorial monument for the victims of the political repressions that is located at the foot of Songinokhairkhan mountain.

A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of MCA-Mongolia was held on September 08, 2022, in Tuul Conference room at MCA-Mongolia. The meeting was chaired by B. Munkhjin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and attended by Board members, including MCC Resident Country Director Tina Yu and MCA-Mongolia Interim Chief Executive Officer D.Enkhjargal as well as MCA-Mongolia Chief Operating Officer D.Khulan, Acting Deputy CEO T.Enkhtungalag and other relevant directors of MCA-Mongolia.

MCA- Mongolia organized an experience-sharing and lessons learned workshop on the current gender and social inclusion activities that were implemented as part of the Water Compact among the infrastructure contractors - MAPA INSAAT, a Turkish company, and MCS Properties LLC, a Mongolian company.

For this purpose, MCA-Mongolia requests your feedback on the questions listed in part 5 of the RFI document. The Groundbreaking ceremony for the Water Recycling Plant, to be built under the MCC-Mongolia Water Compact was held on August 25, 2022 at the project site right next to the new Central Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is currently under construction.

MCA-Mongolia Interim CEO D.Enkhjargal visited (worked) on the construction site of the Advanced Water Purification Plant (AWPP), which is being built at the eastern foot of Songinokhairkhan Mountain with the Compact funding and inspected ongoing works.

The Environment Specialist supports MCA’s Environmental and Social Performance (ESP) objectives and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the management of environment and social aspects of the MCA-Mongolia investment activities.

Today is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Since 2014, World Day Against Trafficking in Persons has been held on July 30th annually. This year’s theme focus on the role of technology as a tool that can both enable and impede human trafficking.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, July 25, 2022 – Millennium Challenge Account – Mongolia announced that Mrs. Enkhjargal Danzalbaljir has been appointed as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the MCA-Mongolia, with the strict responsibility for leading MCA-Mongolia in external facing engagement, particularly engaging with the Government of Mongolia to achieve objectives of the Compact Agreement, which was ratified by the Parliament of Mongolia on January 31, 2019, building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, implementing entities, the MCA-Mongolia Board, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Mrs. D. Enkhjargal succeeds and assume the responsibilities on July 25, 2022, until the permanent CEO of the MCA-Mongolia is hired.
