MCA-Mongolia successfully organized a series of webinars to provide local and international companies with information on planned construction contracts and procurement opportunities under the Downstream Wells Activity, one of the key components of the Mongolia Water Compact on June 10,12 and 22, 2020 respectively.

Millennium Challenge Account – Mongolia (MCA-Mongolia), the accountable entity responsible for implementing the Mongolia Water Compact, successfully organized an official kick-off meeting to launch the development of Customer Assistance Program options under the Water Sector Sustainability Activity on June 16, 2020.

MCA-Mongolia now invites applications for pre-qualification for the Construction of an Advanced Water Purification Plant (AWPP) and SCADA Controls. As per the guidance in the Instructions to Applicants, Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the minimum requirements stated in the Pre-Qualification Document (“PQD”) to pre-qualify. The Qualification Criteria, Works Requirements and Application Forms are included in the PQD.

MCA-Mongolia has successfully organized the webinar on “Planned Works Procurements of MCA-Mongolia” on June 12th, 2020. Our purpose was to provide the interested local and international companies with general information about the Compact activities and works contract packages under the Downstream Wells Activity, one of the key components of the Mongolia Water Compact.

The Government of Mongolia and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signed a five-year $284.9 million Compact in October 2007, which was designed to increase the country’s economic growth and reduce poverty, by investing in five project areas, such as health, vocational education, energy and environment, transportation, and property rights. A virtual stakeholders workshop on a performance evaluation of the Registry System Strengthening Component of the Property Rights Project (PRP) under the first Compact was organized by the Cloudburst Group, a contractor of the MCC on the June 3rd, 2020.

[Ulaanbaatar, May 11, 2020] – A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the MCA-Mongolia was held on May 28, 2020, in Tuul Conference room of the MCA-Mongolia office. The meeting was organized in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with attendance by Mr. D. Tsogtbaatar, Chairman of the Board and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Mr. Gregory May, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Ulaanbaatar and other Board members.
