  1. COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The Communications Specialist develops and executes communications efforts for MCA-Mongolia and the compact, including events, media and stakeholder outreach, and public information campaigns. He/she supports development of a robust communications strategy including outreach to local and national media, government officials, stakeholders and other audiences relevant to the success of projects throughout the life of the compact.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To plan and execute communications effort of MCA-Mongolia, including events, media exposure, stakeholder outreach, and public information campaigns.
  • To develop tools and materials for the media to facilitate effective communication with the public.
  • To develop materials, such as blogs, reports, newsletters, success stories, and other information, as deemed necessary per the communications strategy and to be developed with input from across MCA-Mongolia and under the direction of the Director, Communications.
  • To organize external and internal media outreach campaigns and actions independently or as a team member.
  • To support implementation of MCC branding guidelines.
  • To support development and maintenance of the MCA-Mongolia website and to develop social media channels and content.
  • To support communication of results per the M&E plan.

Evaluation criteria

Education:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in communications, journalism, business administration, or related field.

Work experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant working experience in strategic communications or community and public outreach activities in the national level.
  • Experience organizing external and internal media outreach campaigns and actions independently and or as a team member.
  • Experience working with national and local media.
  • Experience working with international organizations or donors a plus.

Communication and languages:

  • Competency in Mongolian and English, both verbally and in writing. English language proficiency at ILR Level 3 or above is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant professional applications and software.

  • Skilled in analyzing facts and data to support sound, logical decisions regarding own and others’ work.
  • Capable to bring creativity to the team and eager to contribute.
