Ulaanbaatar city, March 19, 2023 – What value and meaning does water have for you? Everyone's answer to this question is different. But all people and all life in the world depends on this substance which seems ordinary, but is actually not ordinary, even magical. Water is essential for all living beings and all animals, humans, plants need water to survive. Water is also one of the main drivers of social and economic development. We need water to create and produce everything we eat, drink, and enjoy. Water is our constant use at home, outside, at work, at school, and on trips. But can we always notice this precious treasure and value it properly? How many times have you imagined a single day without a drop of water?

Although water is a renewable resource, it will be depleted if not used and managed properly. No living being will survive on Earth without water. World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2 billion people living without access to safe water. Theme of this year’s World Water Day is Accelerating changes, which is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis.

As part of this year's World Water Day, the 7-day virtual World Water Run is traditionally being organized around the world.  MCA-Mongolia staff has joined the virtual run to run and walk a total of 100 km, aiming to raise public awareness of water issues and contribute to changing social attitudes towards water and accelerating positive changes and completed the goal on March 19 2023. We are also calling on you to join the World Water Run for a better future for you and your loved ones.
