 THREE GORGES DAM

Yichang Three Gorges Dam Yangtze River China

It is currently the largest engineering project in the world. The "Three Gorges Dam" (HPP) was built on the Yangtze or Yangtze River in Hebei Province, China, for more than 20 years, and was built by foreign and domestic engineers and specialists for $ 32 billion. The height of the port is 180 m or 60 floors and consists of 3 sections. Each of the halls has a large machine hall with a length of 700 meters and 14 large turbine generators. The total length of the port is 2.3 km.

One turbine generator produces 700 megawatts. The 3GD HPP has 32 turbines with a total installed capacity of 20,000 megawatts. That's more than double the supply of all nuclear power plants in the UK. The plant will supply electricity to major cities such as Chongqing, Wuhan, and Shanghai in the Yangtze River Basin, as well as a total of 50,000,000 people, protect 15,000,000 people from floods, and provide water to the basin's population, agriculture, industry, and mining. . Every year, 3.3 million domestic and foreign tourists come here to see this huge "Three Gorges Dam" project
