Ulaanbaatar, November 12, 2019 - A delegation from the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) led by Vice President of the Department of Compact Operations Anthony Welcher visited Mongolia from November 10 to November 13, 2019 to observe implementation progress of the Mongolia Water Compact.
The MCC officials received updates on the status of the Compact implementation and of the Conditions Precedent (CPs) the Government of Mongolia has to fulfill under the Compact. The delegation also visited the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP) and obtained up-to-date information on the construction of a new CWWTP.
MCC officials also met Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Tsogtbaatar Damdin and Finance Minister of Mongolia Khurelbaatar Chimed to discuss the Government of Mongolia’s progress in meeting its commitments under the Compact and exchange views on the Compact implementation.
