MCA-Mongolia and WSRC organize a kick-off meeting for individual consultants to support the development of the Cost recovery plan

[Ulaanbaatar, May 15, 2020] – Millennium Challenge Account – Mongolia (MCA-Mongolia) organized a kick-off meeting of individual consultants’ work to provide Cost Recovery technical assistance to Water Services Regularity Commission (WSRC) on May 15, 2020, in the conference hall of the WSRC office.

The meeting was attended by Mr. J. Batsuuri, Head of the WSRC, Ms. J.Gerelchuluun, Head of the Tariff and Rate Department, Mr. B. Dorjbat, Head of the Legal, Information and Administration Department and specialists from the Tariff and Rate Department in addition to the three individual consultants and relevant directors and specialists from MCA-Mongolia.

Mr. J. Batsuuri, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of long-term cost-effective tariff policy in the water supply and sanitation services sector, and noted that the WSRC would play an important role to develop the policy and ready to work in close cooperation with the consultants.         

Representatives from the MCA-Mongolia presented the general introduction of the “Bulk Water Supply Project” to be implemented under the Compact, as well as the “Cost Recovery Plan and USUG financial model”, and progress status of the “Cost Recovery Sub-Activity” to the participants.
